Under construction

... working on it

Construction site.

One of my ongoing projects. I will post a soon as I am done and have some time.

Center console

d

The center console was in bad shape.

d

Here a close-up of the initial condition.

d

I took it apart, cleaned and painted it.

d

Expediting the drying process.

d

The overworked console.

This is one of the few Mustang parts which are expensive to replace. Glad i got away with fixing it.

Dashboard

I had to replace the ignition (as well as the door) lock(s) and because the bezels were busted, I decided to replace them.

The metal dashboard was scratched and the dash pad had cracks all over, so I decided to paint the dash board and replace the pad.

d

Still a work in progress.

d

Final result.

Instruments & Steering wheel

d

I replaced the clear front bezel after diassembling and cleaning the gauges. This was also a good time to replace the instrument bulbs.

d

Steering column is wrapped to prevent scratches during the mounting of the instrument panel.

d

Cleaned the steering wheel (horn ring). I poured a bunch of paint into the dimples and let it dry laying flat over night.

d

Cleaned the distributor assembly. I also replaced the vacuum advance unit and the points of course. I will switch to point-less ignition soon.

d

I also got new spark plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor.

Engine

d

Besides an oil change and adjusting the valve play, I did not do much with the engine so far.

Electrical

d

The original fuse box was in bad shape. Some wires were almost blank and the contacts were rusted. It is positioned pretty badly, especially if you have a leaking cowl.

d

I decided to install a new fuse box with flat fuses and move it to the engine compartment at the same time.

d

The new fuse box installed at the engine firewall, passenger side. Next to it is my main switch.

Audio

The old speaker board in the back was rotten and I made a new one.
