The center console was in bad shape. Here a close-up of the initial condition. I took it apart, cleaned and painted it. Expediting the drying process. The overworked console. This is one of the few Mustang parts which are expensive to replace. Glad I got away with fixing it. Doors Getting ready to paint the doors. Replaced window rollers and other parts of the window mechanism. Sealed everything up again. New door sills. And new weather stripping. Dashboard I had to replace the ignition (as well as the door) lock(s) and because the bezels were busted, I decided to replace them as well. The metal dashboard was scratched and the dash pad had cracks all over, so I decided to paint the dash board and replace the pad. Still a work in progress. Final result. Instruments & Steering wheel I replaced the clear front bezel after diassembling and cleaning the gauges. This was also a good time to replace the instrument bulbs. Steering column is wrapped to prevent scratches during the mounting of the instrument panel. Cleaned the steering wheel (horn ring). I poured a bunch of paint into the dimples and let it dry laying flat over night. Worked like a charm. Seats Whatever worked back in the days .... The frame cleaned and painted. Overhauled the rails. New cushions for the front seats. Fixed a rip in one of the covers. All remaining seat covers were painted. I had to search quite a bit to find the right stuff and ended up with SEM Color Coat Landau Black 15013. Worked well for me. You need 2-3 cans for all seats. Audio The old speaker board in the back was rotten and I made a new one. Here it is with the new speakers installed. New radio ........ ...... with iPod hook-up. Glovebox A new glove box. Cleaned and painted the glove compartment lid. Voila. Other Things The inner quarter panels were painted. I also got new seatbelts. And then countless small 'projects'.
